Knowles is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hill International, offering commercial and technical expertise through a range of construction claims and management services.
At Knowles we support our clients from initial project feasibility, through contract drafting, design, construction and contract closeout, including dispute avoidance and resolution, adjudication, delay analysis, expert witness and litigation support services.
We believe that many construction claims can be avoided, mitigated or resolved using professional objectivity, integrity and exceptional forensic skills. We have the experience and the expertise to help our clients deliver their projects on time and within budget to the highest quality possible.
Contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, employers, financiers and solicitors all turn to Knowles to help them untangle some of the most complex issues that arise on some of the world’s largest projects.
Founded in the UK in 1973, Knowles was established to provide a combined technical and contractual assistance service to clients in all categories – employers, manufacturers, contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers etc. In 1979 Knowles began an expansion programme, resulting in the opening of 10 offices across the UK by 1985. This expansion was achieved by the recruitment of specific individuals who built up teams in selected locations. The first overseas office, in Hong Kong, was opened in 1987, and from there the Far Eastern operations expanded into Singapore and Malaysia. From 1992, the group expanded into Western Europe and subsequently into the Middle East, North America and Australia.
In September 2006, the Knowles group was acquired by Hill International Inc. (NYSE: HIL), the US global construction and project management company founded by Irvin Richter in 1976. Together, our combined resources of over 3,700 professionals in 100 offices across 6 continents form the world’s largest construction claims consultancy.
