Korea Road Traffic Authority (KoRoad)

The Road Traffic Authority was established in 1954 to protect people’s precious lives and property from traffic accidents. They are doing our best to reduce the number of traffic accidents in half by providing traffic safety training, constant traffic equipment and facility checks, development of new and advanced traffic related technology, providing traffic information through our broadcasting service, etc. Since the beginning of 2011, they have integrated into their organization the 26 nationally distributed driver’s license branch offices thus becoming the undisputable main authority on road traffic management. Last year, over 2 million people world-wide died from traffic accidents which was more than deaths through wars, natural disasters, aids, etc. Traffic accidents are the number one killer of human lives world-wide. The creed for their corporation is to protect each and every person from traffic accident deaths and not to dwell on their past accomplishments but constantly strive to improve our competences and capabilities in order to become Korea’s leading institution for traffic safety. They hope to accomplish this goal through service management, scientific management, and ethical management. We will be responsible for the protection of lives and property of all drivers in Korea and will do their utmost in their  role as the key traffic assistant.
