Founded in 2000, KHIS is a human rights advocacy group that works to establish and promote human rights and peace primarily within Asia and the general international community. Our activities include: monitoring Korean companies overseas for human rights violations; attending to problems that arise from multinational transnational enterprises; and dealing with any obstacles on the path to achieving democracy and human rights.

KHIS monitor the multi-national corporations with special attention to the followings : 

Whether products made by multi-national corporations are trustworthy.
Whether multi-national corporations cause damages to the local environment and human beings.
Whether workers receive humane treatment Furthermore, we monitor whether many globalized Korean corporations investing overseas respect the local culture and human rights.

• Conduct surveys and monitor violations of labor rights by corporations
• Work with local organizations in the areas where Korean corporations are located
• Research on domestic and international standards which multi-national corporations should comply with

• Organize campaigns including sending letters of complaint and solidarity, signature-seeking campaigns, 
• seminars and joint action with domestic and international organizations to improve human rights condition
• Educate children, youth and adults about human rights and peace
• Share information about Burma Gas pipeline project through our email newsletter 'Burma Gas Development and Human Rights'
• Share information about human rights and peace through the "member's forum"
• Spread news about our members and KHIS through 'member's newsletter'
