The Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry was established by a decree-law issued in 1959, which gave it a privileged institutional status. It is an institution of public benefit that has a legal personality that is financially and morally independent.

Its entire board of directors is democratically elected by its general assembly.The Chairman and members of the Board of Directors are considered as volunteers for public service without pay.

Its resources consist of its members' subscriptions and fees for its services without any government support.

Taking its opinion is necessary in everything related to issues and legislation of an economic nature.
