LOKK is a humanitarian organisation whose primary goal is to call attention to, and strengthen, the individual women’s shelter’s work in preventing and combating violence against women and children.
LOKK (National organisation of women’s shelters in Denmark) is a non-governmental organisation – a union of 41 women’s shelters and counselling centres in Denmark.
LOKK was established as a formal organisation in 1987. The mission is to support the shelters in their effort to prevent, combat and create awareness of physical and psychological violence against women and their children.
LOKK has defined some minimum standards for women’s shelters in Denmark. The document is called the Service Package.
LOKK offers advice and counseling to professionals and holds conferences and courses on violence.
