About
The Latvenergo Group strategy (2017 - 2022) is aimed at further strengthening the position of the Latvenergo Group in the Baltics with possible development towards the Nordic countries. The creation of new products and services by facilitating the interaction between production and trade, in line with trends in the energy sector, is crucial to achieving these goals.
The energy sector in the region and worldwide is currently experiencing changes due to ever new technologies and user requirements. As a result, energy companies are also expanding and revising the boundaries of their operations, offering new approaches and services, and exploring new markets.
Changes in the sector are also significant for the Latvian economy - cross-border electricity interconnections, smart services for daily electricity consumption, network digitalisation and new energy markets have opened up new market opportunities. In developing the strategy for the next period, not only these factors, but also other factors influencing the operating environment of the Group, both in Latvia and internationally, have been analyzed and taken into account.
Among the key strategic choices defined, priority is given to sustainable development in all areas of activity. This is justified by the objectives pursued in the previous strategy period and the assessment of political, economic, social and technological factors. The position of sustainability is complemented by the offer of new products and services in the existing market as well as the expansion of activities outside the home market (subject to certain conditions). Based on these strategic choices, Latvenergo Group targets for 2017-2022 have been set.
