About

Laulima is a Hawaiian word meaning cooperation (working with one accord)

Laulima Government Solutions (Laulima) is a Native Hawaiian Organization (NHO)-Owned 8(a) Certified Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) non-personal services provider.

Certified in 2012, Laulima is the second company established under the Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs). The Alaka`ina Foundation FOCs is comprised of industry-recognized government service firms who are designated as Native Hawaiian Organization (NHO)-Owned and 8(a) certified businesses. The FOCs also includes Ke`aki Technologies, Kūpono Government Services, and Kāpili Services.

Their mix of capabilities, NHO procurement advantage, and contract vehicles present a strong tool set to the Federal acquisition community. These features create a total solutions package that is compelling and can support a variety of acquisition strategies. Through their total solutions package, Laulima has performed on a broad range of requirements in both Medical and Biomedical R&D, Information Technology (IT), Professional Assistance and Advisory Services, and Facilities Maintenance operational mission requirements. They boast proven management staff and infrastructure capable of exceptional performance on large-scale Federal and DoD contracts. They provide Total Solutions (integrated quality products, services, and solutions) to customers worldwide.

Their company name reflects both their Hawaiian heritage and their aspirations. By selecting a word that stems from Hawaiian language, they are celebrating a rich and respected culture and distinguishing themselves as a Native Hawaiian Organization (NHO) small business. As a member of the FOCs, Laulima also represents the cohesion that they bring, as One Team withOne Mission, to each and every project, program, and contract they undertake.

Purpose

Their purpose, their “Why,” is the Alaka`ina Foundation. They are an organization that has been long-committed to serving their Federal clients’ objectives; they are also driven to give back to their communities. The goal of Alaka`ina 501(c)3 is to ensure that the young men and women of Hawai`i have the skills and competencies they need to be effective leaders. Alaka`ina is making this a reality by developing innovative educational programs that combine leadership, science and technology, and environmental stewardship. Each member of the Alaka`ina FOCs is profoundly dedicated to the success of their customers as well as that of their charity.

Vision and Values

Their vision is to ensure customers achieve their mission objectives through their synchronized solutions.

Their values were born from Native Hawaiian culture and are prevalent in everything they do. In Hawaiian society, guests and strangers alike are welcomed with the spirit of aloha. Everyone has a responsibility to use his or her talents to the benefit of the entire `Ohana or family. They believe that `Ohana embraces not just their immediate family but also their companies, their customers, their communities, and ultimately—the reason why they do what they do—their charity, Alaka`ina 501(c)3.

What makes them different from other organizations is not only their NHO status—but what they do, how they do it, and why they do it. Their organization’s values are based on the following five principles: Ho`omau, Po`okela, Kuleana, Laulima, and Kūpono.

These five principles guide their relationships in their workplace and communities. They are the cornerstones of the FOCs and are critical to forming productive, long-term customer relationships; attracting and retaining talent; and contributing to the communities in which they operate. It is this aloha spirit—as much as their technical excellence—that is the foundation of their continued success and ultimately their charity’s success.
