FAR, an international network serving agricultural and rural training
The International Network for Agricultural and Rural Training (FAR) was born from the will of professionals gathered in Ouagadougou in 2005 during the conference on "mass training in rural areas, an element of reflection for the definition of a national policy". The goal of the Network is to create rural employment and promote remunerative and sustainable agriculture.
It is currently made up of 17 member countries (Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea, Haiti, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Mauritania, Niger, Central African Republic, Senegal, Chad, Togo, Tunisia).
Today the FAR network is more than 1,800 people involved in the design, management, piloting, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of public and private technical and vocational training systems.
The network is open to all countries and all partners involved in agricultural and rural training issues.
The mission of the International FAR Network is to support countries in the South who so wish in the process of renovating their agricultural and rural training systems
Support for the structuring and governance of national FAR networks
Build the capacities of national FAR members, by mobilizing the expertise of national and international professionals.
Capacity Building
Support through training the emerging initiatives of national platforms, targeting in particular trainers and managers of training institutions.
Communication and advocacy
Provide quality information, ensure greater visibility for the Network and enable it to become a source of proposals to influence public decisions concerning the future of FAR.
Capitalization of knowledge on FAR
On the evolution of agricultural and rural training systems, the needs of the job market, job standards, new training methodologies, training management and financing, and any other relevant subject for FAR.
