Lend a Hand Bahamas (LAHB)
Lend A Hand Bahamas (LAHB) was officially formed in 2014 to address the growing need for more community development "Over-the-Hill" in Nassau, Bahamas. From 2014-2018, the organization focused on fundraising and program planning for its first Community Center in Grant's Town located in Nassau. The organization ran educational programs in the community and in other communities during this time while building good partnerships.
In 2017, LAHB strategically merged with a local group called Lignum Vitae 4-H, which was founded by Shelagh Pritchard and thirteen founding members in 2008. This organization has conducted multiple programs throughout Nassau.
On October 20, 2018, The Neville and Nora Dorsett Community Center was officially opened near downtown Nassau in the community of Grant's Town. Since then, the organization has influenced the lives of over 200 children and their families a month in the community. In addition, LAHB was active in Hurricane Dorian relief efforts in Grand Bahama. Abaco, and especially in supporting evacuees that were relocated to Nassau.See more
