LENASO was established in 1991 and was legally registered in February 1994 (Registration number 94/53). The Vision of LENASO is to be a leading network in coordination of community HIV and AIDS, Primary Health Care (PHC) services. The Mission statement of the network is to strengthen community systems and support coordination and management as well as linkages for uptake of HIV & AIDS services to ensure effectiveness, efficiency, equity, availability and accessibility through capacity building, information sharing, advocacy and lobby, resource mobilization, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of community interventions by CBOs and support groups. LENASO supports and contributes to address the priorities in the National Strategic Plan on HIV and AIDS as the community service provider.
