Macedonian Bank for Development Promotion AD Skopje is the only development bank in the Republic of Macedonia founded with a special Law on Establishing the Macedonian Bank for Development Promotion on May 21^st, 1998 (Official Gazette of RM No. 24/98, 6/2000, 109/2005 and 130/2008). In 2009, a new Law on MBDP was adopted (Official Gazette of R.M. No. 105/2009) aimed at improvement of the Bank position and the specific role MBDP has as a development bank in the banking industry and in the economy of the Republic of Macedonia.

Strategic Goal

MBDP is a development and export bank which strategic goal is to provide support and to incite development of the Macedonian economy through providing finance to small and medium-sized enterprises and export oriented companies. The Bank operates pursuant to the strategic policies, goals and the priorities of the Republic of Macedonia under supervision of the Ministry of Finance and in accordance with the banking regulation under supervision of the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia. MBDP is responsible for its liabilities with all its assets, and the Republic of Macedonia garantees for the liabilities of the Bank.

6. - providing export credit insurance of Macedonian products and services against commercial and political risks

Ownership

MBDP is a joint stock company and the Republic of Macedonia is a sole founder and 100% owner of the Bank.

Their mission as a development and export bank of the Republic of Macedonia is to support the creation of new values based on knowledge, cultural heritage and natural resources aming at constant and balanced development of all regions throughout the Republic of Macedonia.
