Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam Maryadit (MPJNM) was incorporated on 9 July 2012 as a wholly owned state government company under the Companies Act, 1956. The MPJNM has been constituted as an agency by the Government of Madhya Pradesh to implement multi village rural water supply schemes and provide safe drinking water to every family residing in the state of Madhya Pradesh.

Main objective

1. To ensure the availability of safe drinking water in all households in adequate quantity on a permanent basis and proper treatment and disposal of sewerage in urban and rural areas on a permanent basis each year through tap connections in the premises of each household.
2. Monitoring of group water supply and sewerage disposal plans for designing, estimating, constructing, augmenting and preparing tender documents, approving and issuing work orders and monitoring of group water supply and sewerage disposal plans for urban / rural areas do.
3. Ensuring the use of a combination of surface water, ground water and rainwater for drinking purposes.
4. To create awareness among the community to form water users associations to ensure operation and maintenance of group water supply schemes through community participation.
5. Arrangement of financial assistance in the form of assistance or loan from State or Central Government, foreign institutions, etc., to achieve the objectives.
6. To carry out research services and development and training related to drinking water supply and sewerage, coordination with state or central government and other reputed national or international agencies.
7. To act as a nodal agency of the State Government for execution of group water supply and sewerage schemes and allied infrastructure projects or the items envisaged in the above sections.
8. To formulate and develop a perspective strategic plan for the disposal of safe drinking water and sewerage of urban, semi-urban and rural areas.
9. Identifying and outsourcing the operation and maintenance of water supply and sewerage treatment plans of urban and rural areas.
10. To encourage and take all steps to attract and invite entrepreneurs, industrialists, business promoters and development organizations and institutions, promote, implement, implement plans for various projects for optimum utilization of water resources To do and implement.
11. To reform, refine or restructure the existing drinking water supply schemes of the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
