The concept of "Maison de l'Entreprise du Burkina Faso" was born within the framework of the activities of the Private Sector Support Project (PASP), initiated by the World Bank and which ended in 2000. During a workshop bringing together the representations of the private sector and technical and financial partners, on October 2 and 3, 1997, the private sector expressed its expectations in terms of assistance at all stages of the company's development.
 
The diagnosis established at the time and which remains relevant, indicated a problem of general coordination at the level of the support system for the private sector which results in "vague objectives, multiple overlaps and a distressing lack of consultation. expanded strategy ”. The workshop then recommended the establishment of a special unit "responsible for establishing a permanent link between the needs of the private sector and the instruments put in place to meet them." This structure would thus become the prescriber of the services and specific services available in the support system ”.

MISSION

The general objective pursued by the Maison de l'Entreprise du Burkina Faso (MEBF) is to participate in the development of a strong and competitive private sector, through the provision of a critical and coordinated mass of services to companies and associations. professional.

For her, it is about contributing to the renovation of the support mechanism for the private sector which is now called upon to play the role of the main lever of the economic development of Burkina Faso.

The MEBF is thus entrusted with the following missions:

  • setting up and running a reception, listening and referral system for support programs for the private sector;
  • the execution of support programs for the private sector;
  • an interface role with administrations, private sector support institutions and service providers in terms of economic information, advice, training and administrative formalities;
  • and any ancillary or related activity or operation necessary for the accomplishment of its purpose.

Thus, the MEBF has put in place a formal mechanism allowing it to identify the service needs of companies but also firms and service providers for which a substantial register is already open.

Its action is strongly oriented towards SMEs and VSEs which constitute the bulk of the economic fabric of Burkina Faso.
