About

MUCCRI was established in 2013 to raise Climate Change awareness and build a Climate Change knowledge base innovations by engaging in research and training as well as informing policy and conducting outreach activities. 

The Centre informs Makerere University and the country about the evolving understanding of the science of Climate Change, the impacts of Climate Change on Uganda and how to address the resulting challenges. Teams at MUCCRI conduct research, training, and policy engagements in the fields of climate science, adaptation, mitigation, governance and finance.

The Centre is a fully, operational and sustainable Centre within MAK/CAES and has encouraged campus wide participation in Climate Change awareness activities.

The Centre’s work is to raise Climate Change awareness, build a Climate Change knowledge based engaged in research, innovations and in Climate policy formation and outreaches.

To be a leading Centre of excellence in Climate Change research and innovations that enhance sustainable development in Uganda and the African region.

MUCCRI's Mission:

To generate and disseminate quality Climate Change knowledge and innovations to foster Climate Change resilience and sustainable development in Uganda and the African region.
