Malawi Women's Association (MAWA) is an international not for profit organisation founded through Facebook on 7 April 2012.
On this inspiring day Malawi made world history when Joyce Hilda Banda was sworn in as the first female president of The Republic of Malawi. President Joyce Banda became the first female President in the Southern African Development Countries (SADC) and the second female president in Africa.
In the acknowledgment that women still face significant inequality in society, Malawi Women Association was established by women for women.
