Mandulis Energy is a developer of software-enabled renewable energy projects in emerging markets. They started in Uganda, where their pilots are operational, and are engaged in developing both on-grid and off-grid biomass projects.
Crucially, they are committed to creating and deploying new technologies and approaches, that enable them to deliver sustainable solutions to the energy access "trilema" - reliability, sustainability and affordability.
THEIR STRATEGY
Deliver a triple top-line sustainable business that crystallizes the social, commercial and strategic value of the abundance of renewable energy resources in Sub-Saharan Africa, and leverages the commercial, policy and regulatory developments driving the imminent transition into lower carbon economies.
THEIR TECHNOLOGY
They use proven technologies and work closely with industry and academic partners globally to adapt, improve and deliver cutting-edge biomass solutions to rural off-grid Africa.

THEIR PROJECTS
OFF-GRID
REPARLE (Renewable Energy Powering Agriculture and Rural Livelihood Enhancement) is an off-grid rural electrification project in Uganda, led by the French NGO ACTED, and Mandulis Energy, with support from USAID's Power Africa program.
The consortium is developing 8MW of power generation (16 sites x 500kW) that uses gasification to turn agricultural residues into electricity for microgrids in rural farming communities.
Using their Modularity-Grid digital distribution platform, REPARLE will be able to deliver a uniquely integrated solution, to the perennial global challenges, energy security, food security, climate resilience and poverty alleviation.
ON-GRID
EARTH ENERGY is their 20MW grid-tied biomass power project in Gulu, Northern Uganda, which is backed by KfW, African Development Bank and Power Africa.
Once construction is completed, this will be the first and largest grid-tied biomass gasification power plant in Africa
