An ultrasound with MFAMA – what to expect? Why have an ultrasound with MFAMA?
HISTORY
Established in Maryland in1999, MFAMA has worked to provide professional, compassionate and comprehensive maternal and fetal care. Their first office opened in Northern Virginia in 2002 and demand for their services has outpaced their capacity for a single location. Although they started with just one office, they have expanded to five locations and six hospitals served in Northern Virginia. Drs. Hassan, Maghak, Elkousy, Jessie and Spiliopoulos have many years of combined experience in the field of Maternal Fetal Medicine and have developed strong relationships with local Obstetricians and Midwives. They continue to provide the highest level of care for both high risk and healthy pregnant women.
To maintain the standards of excellence women and their Obstetricians have come to rely on, all of their ultrasound technologists are registered diagnostic medical sonographers (RDMS) and MFAMA is one of the few practices in Northern Virginia with AIUM (American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine) certification for obstetric ultrasound as well as Fetal Echocardiogram. All of their physicians and ultrasound technologists are certified by either the fetal medicine foundation or the NTQR (Nuchal translucency Quality Review) for first trimester ultrasound screening, and they have all been certified for Transvaginal ultrasound cervical evaluation by CLEAR (Cervical length Education and Review) or Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF). Of course, all of their physicians are board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as Maternal Fetal Medicine.
They help community obstetricians by providing consultation and co-management of high risk patients when admitted to any of the following hospitals: HCA Reston hospital, HCA Stone Spring hospital, INOVA Loudoun hospital, INOVA Fair Oaks hospital, Novant Prince William hospital, and Novant Haymarket hospital.
