On December 19, 2019, MEGATEM EC-Lublin Sp. z o. o. signed an agreement with the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management for co-financing the project "Construction of a biomass-fired power unit at MEGAT EC-LUBLIN Sp. z oo" no. POIS.01.06.01-00-0031 / 19 (under Measure 1.6 Promotion of the use of high-efficiency cogeneration of heat and electricity based on the demand for useful heat, Sub-measure 1.6.1. Sources of high-efficiency cogeneration, priority axis I Decreasing the emission intensity of the economy of the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Program 2014-2020). The amount of PLN 41,864,769.10 will allow the construction of a biomass-fired power unit with an installed electrical capacity of 12MW to start eand thermal capacity of 40 MW t .
On December 19, 2019, the President of the Energy Regulatory Office announced the results of the ordinary RES auction no. AZ / 7/2019, which was won by MEGATEM EC-Lublin Sp. z oo, thus receiving 15-year support under the Act of February 20, 2015 on renewable energy sources (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 2389, as amended) for the project "Construction of a power unit powered by with biomass at MEGATEM EC-LUBLIN Sp. z oo "with an installed electric capacity of 12 MW e and thermal capacity of 40 MW t . The construction of the unit will bring the estimated annual decrease in greenhouse gas emissions at the level of 116,053.70 Mg CO 2 .
The Megatem EC-Lublin heat and power plant was the first privatized heat and power plant in the country. In recent years, the company has been thoroughly modernized and meets all the requirements set by the European Union.
Modern Combined Heat and Power Plant Megatem EC-Lublin
Thermal energy is reliably supplied to the inhabitants of such districts of Lublin as: Tatary, Bronowice, Felin, Śródmieście, Czechów, Kalinowszczyzna. Heat production takes place in a combined system, which allows simultaneous production of electricity. Its recipients are Towarzystwo Inwestycyjne "Elektrownia Wschód" SA, which supplies production plants located on the premises of the former Automobile Factory in Lublin.
The CHP plant is adapted to use the principle of third party access to the network, the so-called TPA (Third Party Access). The company pays special attention to environmental protection. Protection is provided by a modern exhaust gas filtering system, low-emission technologies and environmental management systems.
