Founded in 1976 by René Schmitz and Jean-Paul Mersch, the general technical contractor MERSCH & SCHMITZ Sàrl begins its activities in Luxembourg City. In 1978, the company moves to a new site in Holzem.

In 2002, following significant growth, MERSCH & SCHMITZ thoroughly reorganises its activities and undergoes a major restructuring, by creating the two companies MERSCH & SCHMITZ PRODUCTION Sàrl and MERSCH & SCHMITZ SERVICES Sàrl.

As an expert in its field of activity, the MERSCH & SCHMITZ group responds to major demands in technical, environmental and economic matters. It has grown to become a leading company in the Luxemburgish sector of technical building equipment.

To this date, the MERSCH & SCHMITZ group employs about 150 to 200 staff, from which about forty are assigned to technical management, some twenty to administration, and more than a hundred to works on site.
