Misisja Metra Warszawskiego Sp. z o. o. is carrying out passenger transport in underground railways in Warsaw, as well as investment replacement and supervision of construction works on the expansion of the capital's metro network. 

Metro Warszawskie Sp. z o. o. has been a commercial company since January 2003. The company is owned by the City of Warsaw.

The company uses the underground infrastructure made available by the city of Warsaw (tunnels, stations) and is responsible for their maintenance. As part of its operating (transport) activity, the company, on the basis of a commercial contract, receives remuneration from the Municipal Transport Board calculated on the basis of a fixed rate per vehicle-kilometer (kilometer driven by subway car).

An additional source of income for the company are revenues from the commercial activities of Metro Warszawskie (rental of commercial and advertising space, etc.) and revenues from investment activities. The city of Warsaw commissions the company to act as a substitute investor in the extension of the metro, for which the company receives remuneration calculated as a percentage of the amount of contracts signed.
