México Evalúa is a think tank and analysis that focuses on the evaluation and monitoring of the government operation to raise the quality of the results. They support the processes of improvement of public policies at the federal, state, and local levels through the generation and/or review of evidence and the formulation of recommendations.
México Evalúa focuses its work on two major fields: one the one hand, public safety, and justice; on the other, the effectiveness of public expenditure, accountability, and the fight against corruption.
The Public Safety and Justice Program produces multidisciplinary analysis and evidence on public safety, crime prevention, victimization, the effectiveness of the criminal justice system, and social rehabilitation. Throughout its studies, the Program has sought to measure the incidence of violence and crime, in order to understand the different circumstances and risk factors for crime, analyze and propose improvements in crime prevention programs, evaluate the scope and limits of the judicial and penitentiary systems, as well as its impact on citizens’ human rights.
The Public Expenditure and Accountability Program monitors the use of public resources, analyzes the budget design process and its supplementary arrangements during the fiscal year, focuses on the effectiveness of public investment in infrastructure, evaluates the reforms proposed by the different political parties on transparency and the fight against corruption and proposes regulatory improvements towards effective accountability.
