Profile

Mikrofin is a microcredit company from Bosnia and Herzegovina that deals with lending. Since its founding in 1997, Mikrofin has been a regional leader in the field of microfinance.

Over the past years, Mikrofin has placed over 100,000 small and micro loans to low-income clients and small entrepreneurs, thus supporting the development and growth of their businesses.

Mission

Their mission is to create and provide profitable credit and non-credit products to less privileged people who are fighting for a decent life with their knowledge and skills. Their service implies maximum respect for the time and needs of their clients.

Development path

Microfin started the microcredit activity within the World Bank Local Initiatives Project in 1997. After the Law on Microcredit Organizations came into force, in 2001 Mikrofin registered as a Microcredit Organization and operated in that organizational form until mid-2007. Since the implementation of the new Law on Microcredit Organizations began in February 2007, Mikrofin, during the first half of 2007, took the necessary steps to organize its business and harmonize it with the provisions of the new Law.

Today, Mikrofin is part of a group consisting of MF banka and Mikrofin osiguranje, which employs over 500 workers. The Group operates through a sales network of more than 90 branches.
