INTRODUCTION
The development and implementation of an energy policy can only be anchored on a clear, detailed and dynamic vision of the energy sector as a whole. Access to reliable energy information is therefore a major challenge in establishing a structured and coherent national energy policy.
The analysis of the state of energy information in Guinea has shown, in the past, many shortcomings, in particular, the absence of a national structure mainly dealing with the collection, processing, validation. and analysis of energy statistics. While a lot of data is available, it is often scattered and can be contradictory depending on the source.
As they can see, the management of energy information presents limits, particularly with regard to the collection of basic data and the coordination between the different administrations responsible for energy issues or having a link with the energy sector. . Also, information circulates with difficulty and often remains confined within specialized structures, for lack of appropriate dissemination mechanisms. This situation has created unnecessary duplication of activities and difficulties in finding the right information. System failures have made the exercise of energy balancing and sector planning for decision making complex.
To remedy this situation and make the National Energy Directorate play its role as the central core of the energy sector, the establishment of an Energy Information System has become essential.
GOALS
The objective of setting up an energy information system (EIS) is to provide the National Directorate of Energy with a planning and decision-making aid tool enabling it to remedy the deficiencies relating to the lack of energy. visibility on the state of resources, the non-circulation of information and their dispersion.
The SIE will also allow the National Energy Directorate to publish the national energy balance on time and to have reliable and consensual data.
This site aims to disseminate the country's energy sector data in order to offer a complete and centralized level of information to the various players in the sector (donors, developers, institutions and investors)
