It is the government institution responsible for preparing and coordinating, in a transparent and participatory manner, the different plans, policies and regulations for the development of the country's energy sector, and thus ensure that all Chileans can access energy safely. and at reasonable prices.
It was born on February 1, 2010 as an autonomous body after years of being part of the Ministry of Mining.
What do they do?
As a government, they understand that the view of the State is essential to face the challenges that the energy sector has, but, like any transformative process, with a long-term sense, it must be done together with society and in a transparent and participatory manner. The energy problem is no longer a purely technical problem and has become a challenge to social legitimacy.
So they all have the beautiful mission of giving Chile an energy sector with a diversified, balanced and sustainable matrix that guarantees the reasonable prices we need for Chile to be a better country with more equality for all.
What they want?
They want all of them to think about how this sector should develop within a society headed towards modernity. A sustainable, inclusive and knowledge-generating society. This sector, as a fundamental engine of development, cannot be satisfied or refer exclusively to the generation of energy, to the production and to the hard engineering of the irons.
They have to broaden our focus towards the field of knowledge, technological development, and innovation, building the trust necessary to coexist harmoniously with the communities and the environment.
