Institution and Tasks
The Ministry, established in 1946, has undergone several organizational reforms, most recently with the Prime Ministerial Decree no. 143 of 17/07/2017 (GU No. 231 of 03/10/2017), which amended the Prime Ministerial Decree no. 105 of 27/02/2013 (GU No. 218 of 17/09/2013), develops and coordinates the lines of agricultural, agri-food, forestry, fishing and tourism policies at national, European and international levels.
With DM n. 2481 of 07/03/2018 (GU No. 115 of 19/05/2018), non-general managerial offices were identified pursuant to the Prime Ministerial Decreen. 143 of 17/07/2017 .
With DL n. 86 of 12/07/2018 (GU No. 160 of 12/07/2018), converted into Law n. 97 09/08/2018 (GU No. 188 of 14/08/2018), the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Tourism Activities was transferred to the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies.
The denomination: "Ministry of agricultural, food and forestry policies" has replaced that of "Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies".
With subsequent decree of the President of the Council of Ministers, the organic endowments and the organizational structures will be adjusted.
Structure
Pending the forthcoming DPCM, the Ministry presents the following organizational structure: Department for the coordination of European and international policies and rural development ( DIPEISR - divided into three General Directions), Department of competitive policies, agro-food quality, horse racing and fisheries ( DIQPAI - divided into three Directorates General), Department of the Central Inspectorate of Quality Protection and Fraud Removal of Agri-Food Products ( ICQRF- divided into two General Directions), Carabinieri Unit Forestry, Environmental and Agri-Food ( CUFAA ), Marine Fishing Department of the Corps of Port Authorities.
