The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS) in South Sudan is a ministry in the current Revitalized Transitional Government of National Unity. The sitting minister is Honourable Josephine Joseph Lagu while Lily Albino Akol Akol serves as the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security.

Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for over 87 percent of the rural population in the Republic of South Sudan; through increased productivity, sustainable and quality production coupled with integrated planning and sustainable and environmentally sustainable management.

Our vision is sustainable transformation of the country’s agriculture sector into a vibrant and productive economic sector that contributes to economic growth, social wellbeing, national food and nutrition security and poverty alleviation.
