Ministry of Culture and Heritage (Ministerio de Cultura y Patrimonio) Ecuador

The Ministry of Culture and Heritage of Ecuador is the State portfolio responsible for cultural policy in Ecuador. It was created by President Rafael Correa on January 15, 2007, with the purpose that he be in charge of the functions that previously belonged to the Undersecretariat of Culture attached to the then Ministry of Education and Culture of Ecuador.  In May 2013, it changed its name from "Ministry of Culture" to "Ministry of Culture and Heritage"
