The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society is a ministry in Thailand. It was established on October 3, 2002 under the name of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology. Subsequently, ministries, bureaus and departments were renovated on September 16, 2016 by establishing the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society. It has the authority to plan, promote and develop the digital economy.

Later, on September 15, 2016, the Government Gazette website has published the proclamation of the Act Renovation of Ministry, Ta-buang, Department (No. 17) B.E. 2559, with the essence of canceling the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology. and to establish the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society instead. (rename the ministry)

Later, on September 26, 2016, the National Security Council Act 2016 was promulgated by the Minister of Information and Communication Technology. Member of the National Security Council Therefore, it is equal to the Minister of Digital Economy and Society. Member of the National Security Council The Ministry's first permanent secretary was Mrs. Songporn Komonsuradet.

On July 22, 2017, there was an announcement of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society regarding the appointment of the Computer Information Screening Committee under the Computer Crime Act B.E. Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Digital Economy and Society Chairman of the Computer Information Screening Committee with effect from 23 July 2017 onwards.
