The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter - the Ministry) is the central executive body of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which forms and implements state policy, coordinates the management process in the areas of the oil and gas, petrochemical industry, transportation of hydrocarbons, uranium mining, state regulation of the production of petroleum products, gas and gas supply, main pipeline, electric power industry, heat supply, in the part of combined heat and power plants and boiler public companies engaged in the production of thermal energy in the centralized heat supply zone (except for autonomous boiler houses), nuclear energy, environmental protection, nature management, protection, control and supervision of the rational use of natural resources, solid waste management, the development of renewable energy sources, state control development policies of the green economy (hereinafter regulated areas).

The ministry has following departments:

  • Committee for Environmental Regulation and Control of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • Committee for Atomic and Energy Supervision and Control of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
