The Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (Spanish: Ministerio de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible) is the national executive ministry of the Government of Colombia in charge of formulating, implementing, and orienting environmental policy to ensure the sustainable development of the country.  MISSION To be the public entity in charge of defining the National Environmental policy and promoting the recovery, conservation, protection, ordering, management, use and exploitation of renewable natural resources, in order to ensure sustainable development and guarantee the right of all citizens to enjoy and inherit a healthy environment. VISION By 2020, the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development will promote the country's sustainable development, through the consolidation of a policy and governance framework for the comprehensive planning of the territory, climate change, conservation and sustainable use of natural, marine and continental capital. and the improvement of environmental quality by strengthening the environmental performance of the productive sectors, and will be the leader in environmental education and the coordinator between the productive sector and the different actors for the implementation and monitoring of environmental policies and guidelines.
