The Ministry of Finance is primarily responsible for financial, budgetary and banking issues and also in charge of the policy initiated by the President of the Union of the Comoros on the management of Finance and the State budget. 

The main missions are:

• Realizes and ensures the effective implementation of finance laws. Proposes to the government and implements budgetary and tax reforms.
• Support for development programs with bilateral and multilateral partners.
• Implements international financial cooperation.
• Ensures, through the general inspection of finances, the control of public spending.
• Ensures, through the Central Bank of the Comoros, the implementation of monetary policy.
