The MFP is the government department in charge of:
a) Propose, coordinate and execute Government policies in the monetary, exchange, credit, budgetary and fiscal areas,
b) To guide the financial administration of the State in budgetary, fiscal, patrimonial, public accounting, public treasury, and financial inspection.
c) To coordinate the National Planning System with a view to the elaboration of the economic development strategy.
