The Ministry of Finance is a dependency of the Presidency of the Dominican Republic , created in the year 1844. Law No. 494-06, of Organization of the Ministry of Finance, and its Regulations of Application, No. 489-07, make up the backbone of its legal framework. This body is responsible for preparing, executing and evaluating fiscal policy, which includes the revenues, expenditures and financing of the public sector, ensuring its sustainability within the framework of the Government's economic policy and the National Development Strategy.
