He is responsible for preparing the policy relating to debt and its repayment, as well as analysing the sustainability of public debt and monitoring its refinancing.
It contributes to the economic programming cycle and prepares the medium-term budget framework.
He is responsible for economic and financial control, coordination and guardianship of the General Inspectorate of Finance.
He is entrusted with the financial guardianship of companies, public institutions and other national bodies in whose capital the state has a share.
