Execute the foreign policy guidelines in order to position Panama as a country of dialogue and mediation; Promote international cooperation for development to benefit Panama's citizenry, as well as defend and protect the interests of the Panamanian State in the international arena.

To be a renewed, well-positioned, efficient and modern Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with highly competitive professionals and, as a country brand, promote its capacity for dialogue and consensus-building and be a leader in the region for the sustainable global development agenda.

OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the national representative body of Panama abroad are based on the following points:

- Be the communication channel and representative of the Panamanian State before other states and international organizations.
- Defend the interests of Panama and its citizens abroad.
- Comply with and enforce the Constitution, the rules of international law and treaties signed by the Republic of Panama.
- Professionalize and change the Panamanian Foreign Service to meet the new demands of international relations.
