The role of the Ministry of Forestry is central to the Mission Statement of the organization. It connects the Ministry to its diverse stakeholders and customers. The dynamics and imerging issues within the forests sector continues to challenge the relvance of its policies in the face of continuous change.
The Role
(i). Implementation of Forest Policy 2007
(iii). Administer and enforce Forest Legislation
(iii). Ensure conservation, sustainable utilization and management of forest resources
(iv). Approve and issue forest related licenses
(v). provide training, extension services and research
(vi). Coordination with key stakeholders including forest resource owners
The Ministry of Forestry has eight (8) functional divisions namely Silviculture Research Division, Management Services, Timber Utilization and Research, Forest Parks, Extension & Advisory Services, Timber Industry Training, Forestry Training, Mechanical Division and Forest Harvesting & MCS.
