In this custody; There was a continuous commission called "Trade and Agricultural Assembly-i Kebiri" and trade, accounting, statistics, agriculture items (apartments). These also included "industry" work. The Ministry served 82 years with different names and functions until 1922, when the existence of all the Ottoman ministries reached the end with the abolition of the reign of this date.
FROM THE MINISTRY OF ECONOMY TO THE MINISTRY OF TRADE
"Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture, Forestry and Maadin" (2.5.1920 / 3) covers the duty area of the Ministry, which is located in the first Parliamentary Government as "Ministry of Economy". In the Republic period, the Ministry of Economy was abolished by Law No. 432 dated 5.3.1924, and the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Agriculture were established instead. However, the two ministries, dated 16.1.1928 and numbered 1200 with the Law on the Relation of Trade and Agriculture Deputies, were reunited and the Ministry of Economic Affairs (as two undersecretaries) was reestablished. By the way; After four years, the agriculture department was re-separated and the Ministry of Agriculture was re-established in 1931 (29.12.1931 / 1910). After the 1929 World Economic Crisis, "statist economic policy" was passed; With the Law No. 2262 dated 11.07.1933, Sümerbank was established and I and II. Five-year Industrial Plans were prepared and implemented in 1934-1938; a significant part of the investments in this period were realized by Sümerbank and İş Bank.
ECONOMY AND TRADE AGENCIES
In 1931, the Minister of Agriculture, in 1939, with the Ministry of Trade and Makkalatta Vakâletin set up and separated, the Ministry of Economy shrank thoroughly, until 1949 continued. Later on, with the approval of the President of the Republic of Turkey dated 16.1.1949, "Trade Deputy" and "Ministry of Economy" were reunited and "Economic and Trade Deputy" was established. However, a year later, the "Office of the Authority" related to the state enterprises and facilities was separated from the Ministry and the Ministry of the Works was established (Law: 11.2.1950 / 5528). Machinery and Chemical Industry Institute, General Directorate of Turkish Iron and Steel Works and Turkey General Directorate of Cellulose Paper Factories were affiliated to Ministry of Economy, which was established between Mineral Research and Exploration Institute, Sümerbank and Etibank between 1950-1957.
MINISTRY OF INDUSTRY AND TRADE (I)
The two ministries, which came from the Ministry of Economy in 1939 and merged in 1949 and were re-separated in 1957, had a new merger experiment in 1971. This merger was realized with the Presidential Approval (26.3.1971 / 4-286) and for the first time under the name of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (Official Gazette: 27.3.1971, number 13791). However, during this merger, there has been a contraction; The Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations was established for the first time by the Ministry of Foreign Trade. The duties of the Ministry of Industry and Trade are limited to industrial and domestic trade areas. Ministry of Industry and Trade; It was re-established with the "Decree Law on Establishment and Duties of Ministries" (13.12.1983 / KHK 174) published in the Official Gazette dated 14.12.1983 and numbered 18251. It was also organized by the "Decree Law on the Organization and Duties of the Ministry of Industry and Trade" (13.12.1983 / KHK-185) published in the Official Gazette of the same date, and then some changes were made (8.6.1984 / KHK-214). The Decree Law (8.1.1985 / 3143) published in the Official Gazette dated January 18, 1985 and numbered 18639 was abolished and the Law on Organization and Tasks of the Ministry entered into force.
