The Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies was created by Law 6207 dated October 22, 2018 "Which creates the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies and establishes its charter" to replace the National Secretariat of Information Technology and Communication, and the Information and Communication Secretariat.
It is the technical entity and lead instance in the field of Information and Communication Technologies in the public sector, and the communication of the Executive Power.
The institutional policy is based on the general principles established by Law 6.207 "That creates the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies and establishes its charter," to be: planning, transparency and citizen participation: the promotion of TIC; the protection of user rights; Free technological adoption and the massification of electronic government.
Likewise, MITIC actions are framed within the strategic axes, cross-cutting lines and strategies of the 2030 National Development Plan.
Mission
Design and implement public policies that promote and facilitate connectivity, inclusion, technological innovation and the digital economy; as well as those that involve the creation and dissemination of relevant and plural content from state media, generating a broad process of social inclusion from public communication, transparency in management and promotion of culture and identity.

To be the public institution that improves the quality of life of people through the massive and inclusive use of ICT, promoting innovation, efficiency in management, access to information, the generation of relevant and quality content, guaranteeing participation and transparency.
