The Department is in charge of developing and implementing government policy in the areas of Employment, Labour Protection and Welfare Social Workers.
In this capacity, it is responsible for :
- Preparing draft legislative texts and regulations relating to Employment, Labour and Social Protection of workers and ensuring their application control.
- Promoting negotiations among social partners, facilitating social dialogue and participating to the settlement of labour disputes.
- Conducting studies and research necessary for the promotion of employment, labour and social protection of workers.
- Defining required actions and measures needed for expanding employment opportunities.
- Following up, first in conjunction with the government authority in charge of the affairs of the Moroccan community residing abroad, issues prospect of employment abroad and dealing with the application of employment policies and social security.
- Representing the government among international and regional organisations working in conjunction with the departments concerned.
- Participating in any regional or bilateral, multilateral negotiation, in relation to the functions of the Ministry for Employment and Social Security.
- Promoting and controlling the actions of social protection for workers.
