Mission

DECREE No. 77-2014

The Minister of National Education elaborates and implements the general policy of the Government in matters of education and education. It ensures, within the limits of its attributions, the control of the private education. In this context, it is responsible in particular for:

-Propose, in consultation with the Ministries concerned, strategies and development programs of the National Education sector which are submitted to the Government for approval.
-Set the educational programs, the certification procedures, the conditions of opening and access to Public and Private Education Institutions under its jurisdiction.
-Organize and supervise national examinations and competitions under its jurisdiction;
-Conduct analyzes aimed at improving the quality of the education system and initiating appropriate reforms.
-Prepare and report to the Government on the state of readiness for school entry
-Ensure the development and implementation of the national strategy for education and non-formal education within its competence.
-Coordinate with the Ministers concerned the activities related to the areas of education and training they are responsible for implementing as well as school health.

The Minister of National Education represents the State with regional and international institutions specialized in its fields of competence.
