What do they do?

They formulate, design, execute and supervise the national and sectoral policy of Fisheries, Aquaculture, MSEs and Industry.

They exercise competence in fisheries and aquaculture planning, industrial fishery, medium and large enterprise aquaculture, industrial standardization; as well as of controlled products, productive innovation and technological transfer.

They promote the harmonious development of the productive ecosystems of fishery, aquaculture, industry, micro, small, medium and large companies, internal trade and cooperatives.

They reassess artisanal fishing, promote production for direct human consumption and seek to improve the fisherman's living conditions.

Mission

Their  mission is to promote the development of the agents of the productive sector, promoting innovation, quality and environmental sustainability, contributing to the competitiveness of the sector.

The sector is integrated by the National Fisheries Development Fund (FONDEPES); Institute of the Sea of ​​Peru (IMARPE); Fisheries Health Agency (SANIPES); Technological Institute of Production (ITP); National Institute of Quality (INACAL); National Program To Eat Fish, INNÓVATE PERÚ Program; Innovation Program in Fisheries and Aquaculture; Program of Productive Diversification, Your Company Program and the commissions, initiatives, projects within the scope of its competence, political and functional responsibility.
