The Ministry of Health aims at medical facilities for the people of Chad.

There are a number of hospitals in the country, which try hard to fight against the widespread diseases of the country such as leprosy, tuberculosis, spinal meningitis and schistosomiasis. Some of the most important and early established hospitals of Chad are situated in Abéché, Sarh, Moundou, N'Djamena. The birth rate of the people of Chad has been estimated to be 45.3/1000 and the general life expectancy of the people is 46 to 48 years.
