The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is the authority responsible for managing, regulating and developing the telecommunications, information technology and postal sector in Palestine. These responsibilities or powers include: setting policies, legislation and laws to regulate these sectors, establishing, developing and operating the e-government in Palestine, operating and developing postal services in Palestine, Monitoring, monitoring and licensing companies operating in these sectors, providing a free and fair competitive environment, ensuring the quality and sustainability of services provided to citizens, and fair prices for those services, in addition to preserving and protecting data and national information systems.
The Palestinian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology was established in 1995 following the Oslo Accords, and was called at the time the Palestinian Ministry of Post and Communications.
