Responsibilities of the Ministry of Water, Rural Equipment and Village Water Resources

To this end, he is responsible for organizing the coordination and monitoring of policies, programs and actions in the water and wastewater treatment sector.

 

The Ministry of Water, Rural Equipment and Village Hydraulics is in this capacity responsible for the coordination and control of all State activities relating to water resources, drinking water and sewage treatment.

As a result, it sets up the bodies provided for by the water code for integrated management of water resources.

It ensures the protection of water resources, the supply of drinking water to the populations and assists them in the construction and management of water points and hydraulic structures. He participates in the development and implementation of waste disposal strategies.

The Ministry of Water, Rural Equipment and Village Water Resources also coordinates activities in the area of ​​wastewater treatment and prevention of water-related risks. It promotes wastewater purification and recycling techniques.

Within the framework of its attributions, the Ministry of Water, Rural Equipment and Village Water Resources has authority over the services of the central administration of the department, the external services and the services directly attached to it.

It may have services with national or shared competences.

• the availability and use of water resources for all uses in a context marked by a rapidly growing population, a developing economy and an environment affected by climate change;
• the protection of people and property against water-related risks;
• universal, equitable and sustainable access to drinking water at an affordable cost;
• universal access to sanitation and rainwater services;
• access for all under equitable conditions to adequate sanitation and sanitation services.
