Mintaka Foundation

About

The Mintaka Foundation for Medical Research was registered in Geneva on October 25th 2005. Since then they have raised over $9 million in funding from donations and grants to support the projects.

Since its creation in 2005, Mintaka has striven towards finding solutions to abolish global health imbalances, one of the greatest injustices of this time.

‘Mintaka’ is the sailors’ name for the westernmost of the three stars in Orion’s belt. Among all the bright stars in the sky, Mintaka is the only one to be so close to the Celestial Equator that it is equally visible in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. It therefore symbolizes the vision and aim of the Foundation.

Mission: To develop medicines that help redress global injustices in healthcare and promote their ethical distribution everywhere

Vision: A world where there everyone has the medicines they need
