About

Motherwell Football Club Community Trust was incorporated as a Scottish Charity (SC042588) and as a company limited by guarantee (SC406352) in September 2011. The company has assumed responsibility for the management and operation of a range of community-facing sport, recreation, social and community development activities on behalf of Motherwell Football Club.

The aim of the Trust is to use the power of football and the brand name of Motherwell Football Club to motivate and inspire people and communities to change their lives for the better.

The Trust operates across Lanarkshire and works with people and communities of all ages living within areas of multiple deprivation or those affected by issues such as poor physical and mental health, unemployment, poor attainment, low engagement with physical activity and community safety.

The Trust is strongly focused on working in equal partnership with a range of agencies including:

  • Motherwell Football Club
  • North Lanarkshire Council
  • North Lanarkshire Leisure
  • CutureNL
  • NHS Lanarkshire
  • Police Scotland
  • Scottish Fire and Rescue Service
  • Scottish Football Association
  • Scottish Professional Football League
  • Scottish Professional Football League Trust
  • Third Sector Agencies

The Community Trust is the only charitable body with an association to a professional club to be awarded the Scottish Football Association's Quality Mark Award at Legacy Level in the SPFL Premiership and achieved Investors in People and Investors in Young People in March 2016.
