About

MS Consultancy is an Ethiopian-based independent firm offering a range of development and technical services in civil engineering and related works with focus on water resources and waste management. It is fully owned and managed by Ethiopian engineers and technical personnel.

The company is registered under the appropriate Ethiopian commercial laws and has license to operate as a consultant in the fields of water resources management and construction supervision works.

The main objectives of the firm are:

1. To provide quality and dependable consultancy services to its clients compatible with the country's current economic policies that are designed to encourage sustainable development; and

2. To participate in the national capacity building and provide in-house training to young professionals.

The services that the firm provides are wide and varied in their nature that include notably, project formulation, design, construction supervision and commissioning in the field of engineering focusing on water supply and sanitation, irrigation, hydropower, infrastructure development and other civil engineering works. The short-term plan of the firm is to remain active in areas that are currently in demand in the country and to expand the involvement in joint ventures with local consultants.

In the long-term, however, the firm is intending to expand its scope in managing larger projects by associating with internationally accredited consulting firms.

MS Consultancy is composed of well experienced professional engineers, technicians and support staff to undertake the core activities of the company. Whenever a project requires a specialized discipline, additional staff is employed and assigned for the duration of specific projects.

At present the firm has a core of over 60 professionals to carry out its immediate plans, including fourteen civil engineers, eight water resources engineers, three hydro-geologists three electromechanical engineers, two geotechnical engineers, four surveyors and a number of supporting technical staff.

In addition to the core staff the firm has access to a long list of professionals in different fields. The firm is currently engaged in a number of assignments in Ethiopia and has been involved in some of the most challenging assignments undertaken by local consultants in Ethiopia in recent times and enjoys an excellent reputation among its clients. A summary of the staff qualification is given in Chapter 3; and the overall organizational structure is shown in figure 1.3
