MS Training Centre for Development Cooperation (MS-TCDC)
MS Training Centre for Development Cooperation (MS-TCDC)
About

The centre was opened in 1976 to prepare Danish Volunteers for their assignments in different Eastern and Southern African Countries. The centre still receives these Danish Development Workers sent out by MS, for the four weeks African Orientation Course. But today, the majority of our more than 500 annual participants come for our Swahili and Development courses from regional NGOs and others.

MS in Denmark has as its overarching goals poverty reduction and intercultural cooperation. As part of this family, MS-TCDC has as its main goal to increase the competence of civil society organisations and partners to effectively conduct their development programmes and influence policy environments.

MS-TCDC Mission Statement: Strengthened ability of civil society Organisations and other stakeholders to empower people to question their situation and act to realise their vision of a dignified life.

Mandate: MS-TCDC provides high quality training, consultancies and facilities for reflection and learning to civil society organisations and their partners.

Our participants come from local and international NGOs and CBOs, working mainly in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda, but also from Southern Africa, the Horn of Africa and beyond. We also provide our services to government and UN staff, as well as embassies.

Our clients appreciate that while spending time on meetings and courses in MS-TCDC, they have a unique chance to meet and discuss with a wide cross-section of professionals from international and local development organisations in a vibrant atmosphere.

Participants also cherish our long-standing commitment to teaching adults in a participatory and experiential fashion.

The centre has 81 staff members.

MS-TCDC is a non-profit institution, and as such we do our outmost to combine the highest quality of teaching and excellent services with prices affordable for most organisations working in development.
