About

Established in April 2013, Myanmar Koei International Ltd. (MKI) is an subsidiary of Nippon Koei Co., Ltd. (NK), the first Japanese independent consulting engineering firm in Tokyo founded by Mr. Kubota Yutaka in 1946.

From 1954-1960, Mr. Kubota was principally involved in the planning, design and construction of the Baluchaung No. 2 Hydropower Project (Lawpita Power Station), one of the key hydropower plants in Myanmar, and the first overseas project of Nippon Koei. Since then, the project has entered expansion and rehabilitation plans and presently provides a reliable supply of electricity to millions of people for more than half a century. The Baluchaung Hydropower Project stands as a symbolic cooperation between Japan and Myanmar.

To continue the generation of technical and financial collaboration between the two countries, MKI is committed to provide excellent engineering consulting services for infrastructure development in Myanmar.
