About

Background

NaMSIP delivers both short and long-term social-economic benefits to the residents of the Nairobi Metropolitan region by improving key public services which include: spatial planning and public infrastructure in the areas surrounding Railways stations, roads, construction of modern markets, street and security lighting, disaster and emergency preparedness, sanitation services and solid waste management.

NaMSIP is clustered into four components:

  • • Institutional Reform and Planning
  • • Local basic Infrastructure and Services
  • • Large Infrastructure
  • • Monitoring and Evaluation.

NaMSIP is implementing over 120 sub-projects within the five metropolitan counties. To date, 23 projects have been completed with many others at over 75% completion. It is evident that the projects have already registered a number of social and economic impacts.
